Last Christmas, I was asked to play Santa at several local events. I expected it to be fun. I did not expect how meaningful it would become.
The response from children, families and the venues themselves was extraordinary. This year, I have already been invited back — and invited to appear at additional locations.
That led to Claus for a Cause.

Claus for a Cause is simple: It begins with the meaning of Christmas itself. The birth of Jesus Christ was humble and peaceful, and brought hope, love, togetherness, and mercy to the world. This is a time for friends and families to gather, share, and build memories for a lifetime. Claus for a Cause Santa experiences are about using some of the magic we create together to help make Christmas a little brighter for others.

Claus for a Cause is built on a simple idea: paid appearances should help create holiday experiences beyond the event itself.
A portion of proceeds from paid appearances will support charitable Christmas efforts and help make complimentary Santa experiences possible for deserving organizations, families or communities.
As the 2026 Claus for a Cause program develops, specific charitable partners and impact will be shared here. You may choose to have your donation public or anonymous.

Last Christmas I wrote a storybook — A Farm is Born, by Pappy O’Daniels — about the horses in a village barn who gather on Christmas Eve and quietly wish their farm back to life.
Santa can read it aloud at storytime visits, breakfasts, barn events and school gatherings. It is a lovely, calm way to gather children before photographs and Christmas wishes.

Santa was one of the highlights of our holiday event. The interaction with the children was genuine, warm and completely believable.
He took his time with each of the children. It was not about what they wanted, but about how Christmas is special to them.
Half way through last year's event, we booked him for next year.
